Niche Research is one of the most important things you have to do no matter what type of site you are building. Get this wrong, and you have a recipe for disaster. What exactly is a niche? Before you start building a site and start creating content, you will have to choose a niche.

Before you start building a site and start creating content you will have to choose a niche. A niche market is a segment of a very large market on which a specific site is focusing on. You can even break down those segments even further and find other micro niches as well. The deeper you drill down to the more profitable niches you are likely to find.

I am sure you have heard the phrase “Follow your passion and the money will follow you” but trust me it’s the worst thing you can do when it comes to choosing your niche. Let me put it this way, let’s say you have a passion for poetry and you invest hours of your time researching keywords, creating content and doing SEO for a site based on poetry. Do you think it will really make you money? I am not saying it won’t but it won’t make nearly as much money as some of the other niches I will discuss below. The time and effort you put into a site with a niche like this is just pretty much a waste. You could literally work half as much and create a site that in a niche like weight loss and make 10x the profit you would with this one.

So if you want to build a business a business that is sustainable and not just a hobby, niche research is absolutely crucial. At the end of the day, it all comes down to niche profitability.

 

What is Niche Marketing?

When you market the products and services on your site towards a particular niche, it’s termed as niche marketing. The goal is to go for a niche that has demand, the more demand a niche has, the more money you can potentially make from your site. And if you get this right, your audience will turn into loyal fans and buyers. All you have to is make sure what you provide on your site targeted towards your visitors.

When you understand who your target audience is it’s really easy to build solid content and products targeted towards them and improve your marketing skills.

 

How To Determine If A Niche Is Profitable?

Here are all things you need to look at when determining if a niche is profitable –

  • Do the keywords in your niche have high CPC?

This is the primary factor you need to look at if you are building a site that you plan to monetize with Adsense. CPC stands for Cost Per Click. When you are in Google Keyword Planner it’s going to show up as suggested bid and it should look like this.

The suggested bid is the amount you get when someone clicks an Adsense ad when they visit your website for the given keyword. Also, one more thing you will notice that the monthly searches it showing a rough estimate and honestly it’s very vague. This is a result of the last update Google made. I know this can be really confusing especially if you are just starting out. Just follow the how to get accurate data on Google Keyword Tool and you will be able to get exact search data. Okay back to the CPC, you want to go for a niche which has keywords of at least $1 CPC. So, when a visitor comes to your site for these keywords and clicks on an Adsense ad you will get $1 per click.

  • Are there high priced (above $100) products on Amazon in your niche?

Adsense and Amazon are the primary sources of monetization for most people who are doing niche marketing. And when you are making an Amazon review site you want products that have a higher price on the Amazon marketplace. When you promote an Amazon product you will get up to 8% per sale. So that’s $8 for every $100 product you sell through your site.

  • Are there lots of CPA offers in your niche?

Head over OfferVault and search up your niche. For example, let’s say I choose fitness as my niche so when I search it up the result will be like this.

You will see offers for both leads and sales but you want to specifically look for CPA offers and if you see there are a lot of offers, in this case I found 325 of them which is a great sign as I know there are lots of offers I can promote if I were to a site in this niche I could certainly make some good profits.

  • Are there high converting Clickbank offers in your niche?

Clickbank is one of biggest platforms to find affiliate offers. And the best part about promoting Clickbank product is that if you choose the right products to promote, you just have to make a sale once and get recurring commissions for months! Go to Clickbank.com and click on affiliate marketplace and on the search box type in your niche and once you get the results sort them by Gravity.

As you can see the first product has a gravity score of 189 which is huge and it means a lot of people are promoting the product and getting sales making it a hot high converting offer that could potentially make you $36 per sale. And that’s how you determine the conversion rate of different products.

 

Top 3 GOLDEN Niches

If you are still confused what niche to go for just go for something along the lines of these three –

  1. Health
  2. Wealth
  3. Relationships

These are three evergreen niches that will always have a huge demand and you can result assured that each and every one these have high converting offers and products that you can promote and make a killing with.
